I’ve run for public office seven times since 1999, four times for Seattle School Board and thrice for state Supt. of Public Instruction. This year I planned on running for Governor - and speaking out more boldly than ever.Unfortunately, I learned just recently that filing week has been moved up a month or more - and the filing fee is a whopping $1,700. Like so many people, I’m struggling with our dying economy and can’t come up with that kind of money. So it looks like I have no choice but bow out.
If you know anyone with deep pockets who’d like to get me on the ballot - someone who understands the importance of getting a candidate who says “Fuck the troops” on the ballot - I need $1,000, and I need it soon; the filing deadline is Friday, May 18. I’d be more than happy to accept the money as a loan, though I probably couldn’t pay it back until December.

Ready for a BIG election year? Global hero Hugo Chavez is poised for re-election in Venezuela, with Mexico’s leftist de facto President López Obrador gunning for that country’s highest office. One of their biggest fans and supporters is me (David Blomstrom), a candidate for Washington State Governor.
Does my campaign website look underdeveloped? In fact, that’s something of an illusion, because my political crusade is never limited to my campaign websites.
You can’t vote intelligently if you don’t have a clue about politics, so check out my primary political website, Politix. A good place to start is the Introduction, the first in a series of ten articles that should 1) get you up to speed on politics and 2) give you a good idea about MY political beliefs.

I’ve probably put at least ten times as much information online as all my opponents combined - something I’m very proud of and something you should consider when casting your vote.
Oh, yeah...there’s also a U.S. presidential election pitting a treasonous war criminal named Obama against some Republican assholes. Frankly, I won’t be voting for any Demopublicans when this lesser of evils charade has brought the U.S. to the brink of total collapse.
Help!
Don’t give up on elections just because the system is hopelessly corrupt! Running for office can be just as potent a reform strategy as protesting or anarchism.
Of course, it helps to have some support - and I’ve never found any allies here in corporate Seattle. So please help publicize my campaign! All you have to do is refer to me or my campaign from time, posting links to my campaign website or associated sites on your own websites or blogs, Facebook, or even in the online corporate media, in their comments sections.
It would be especially cool if you could mention my name in association with some of the movers and shakers, like Hugo Chavez, Sean Penn or López Obrador. I want to get their attention; if they merely mentioned my name, it would give me some publicity - and piss off a lot of right-wingers at the same time.
I don’t need a pile of money to run for office, but I will have to pay a filing fee equal to 1% of the governor’s salary - probaby about $1,500. So if you know 150 people willing to contribute $10 each, send them my way. Even if the Seattle Mafia doesn’t allow me to get over 10% of the vote, they’ll get their money’s worth. ;)
If I sound like a gloomy doomsdayer, take a closer look. I actually have lot of positive ideas.
But first let me make it clear that neither Chavez nor Obrador have in any way endorsed my campaign or any of my ideas and issues. In fact, Obrador doesn’t even know who I am (yet), though I suspect Chavez knows at least a little about me; after all, I’m the webmaster of Viva Chavez! I’ve also supported in previous bids for public office.
No War on Iran!
It now looks like war with Iran is almost inevitable. Team USA is moving full speed ahead, assassinating Iranians, torpedoing their economy and attempting to topple Syria while it continues to build up its military forces in the region.
It’s hard to imagine how either Russia or China could sit buy and watch the U.S. take out one of the world’s most vitally important nations. Of course, they did sit on the sidelines as the U.S. destroyed Libya, Africa’s best hope.
But I think Iran may be different; the stakes simply get higher with each new nation the U.S. targets.
If the U.S. does attack Iran, I hope Iran wins - and I pray that it’s a bloody victory. Someone needs to teach the U.S. some manners.

Statement on Gaddafi
On October 20, 2011, the corporate media reported that Libyan freedom fighter Gaddafi was murdered by a NATO-backed mob.
No one is more skeptical of the corporate media than I am. I’m probably the only candidate in Seattle history who doesn’t even accept media endorsement interviews - not even with sham alternatives like the Seattle Weekly and The Stranger. I think the government’s version of 9/11 is a bald-faced lie, and I think the story about Osama bin Laden being killed earlier this year is a lie.
However, I suspect that Gaddafi really is gone. It would simply be too dangerous to claim a man of his caliber is dead, only to have him turn up alive.
And if Gaddafi is still alive, rest assured the world’s greatest terrorist organization will do everything in its power to assassinate him. Even if Gaddafi survives, how can he take Libya back from NATO? How can he unify Africa when most African leaders are U.S. puppets? Even if Gaddafi is still alive, the dream is dead.
Few people intrigue me more than Gaddafi. People can’t even seem to agree on how to spell his name.
I have never proclaimed the man a saint. He may have done questionable things. It’s possible he’s even a monster.
But I like to look at the big picture. How can an individual rule an enormous nation like Libya where people think of themselves as members of tribes, rather than a nation? How can anyone rule a nation in the Middle East, which is terrorized 24/7 by Israel and the United States? (Gaddafi’s adopted daughter was allegedly killed in a 1986 U.S. missile attack.)
More than rule Libya Gaddafi fought to unify Africa. Libya is just one of two or three African nations that did not sign on with George W. Bush’s Africom program. That alone commands respect.
Libya nationalized its bank - something the U.S. should do. And Libya’s quality of life index is surprisingly...well, astounding. Before NATO bombed it into the ground, it boasted the longest average life expectancy in all of Africa, one of the lowest infant mortality rates, etc.
Gaddafi was apparently working on a mammoth project designed to irrigate vast tracts of land, turning Libya into Africa’s breadbasket. Such a project must have been dreaded by the corporate whores - led by Monsanto and Bill Gates - who want to recolonize Africa, turning it into one vast corporate collective dedicated to genetically modified food.
All of the above and more have been cited by conspiracy theorists as reasons for the United States’ proxy war against Libya. In spite of any flaws, Gaddafi was simply too good to be true.
So my response to reports of Gaddafi’s murder is fuck Obama and Bill Gates, fuck the troops and viva la revolucion!
If it turns out that Obama lied about Gaddafi’s assassination, will I be embarrassed?
Not at all. I made a logical calculation that - this time - the corporate media are probably telling us the truth. If I erred, and Gaddafi turns up alive, Obama and the army of media whores that support him are the ones who will be embarrassed.
Viva Chavez!
The corporate media like to claim that Hugo Chavez and Gaddafi were joined at the hip. While that isn’t literally true, Chavez was probably Gaddafi’s most outspoken ally.
Similarly, I’ve long been one of Hugo Chavez’ fans, and I’ve recently given my support to Gaddafi as well.
In fact, I’m probably the only candidate for public office in the U.S. who supports Chavez and Gaddafi.
My political party - the Fifth Republic Party - has the same name as Chavez’ party, as well as many of the same goals. And it turns out that Chavez is running for re-election in 2012, the same year as my election campaign.
So please help get the word out. The more publicity my campaign receives, the greater the likelihood that Chavez will learn about it and hopefully give me a little support in return.

• Protect children trapped in public schools from corporate pedophiles.
• Kick Bill Gates’ greedy ass out of OUR schools.
• Make Bill Gates pay taxes, like everyone else.
• Make Bill Gates give back the $50 million he stole from taxpayers when relocating the Gates Foundation headquarters.
• Get out the word about the role Bill Gates and Monsanto are playing in what some are calling the recolonization of Africa.
• Teach War 101 in public schools, so brain-dead youths who come back from Iraq missing arms, legs or their minds can’t tell us they didn’t know what they were getting into.
• Support a REAL investigation of 9/11, which clearly could not have happened the way our lying government says it did.
• Promote a REAL alternative political party as an alternative to the Demopublican Party, which has given us the two worst presidents since the Civil War - George W. Bush and Obama.
• Tell Seattle Mayor Mike McDumbass to scrap his idea of making the taxpayers subsidize Microsoft’s shuttle bus service.

My campaign website is far from finished. Ironically, my last campaign website isn’t even finished. You see, I like to document corruption in the electoral system (and everywhere else). That means I have to wait for the dust to settle and find time to analyze things and write it up.
Anyway, it will all get done, along with my latest, greatest project - the Global Awakening Dictionary.
But enough rambling. Crank Blethens’ Seattle Times also likes to claim that I have no issues, or that there are no issues.
In fact, I have always discussed more issues than any of my opponents in every race I’ve ever run in. It’s part of my track record, something I’m very proud of. If you want to vote for some corporate asshole instead of me, go right ahead, but don’t claim I have no issues!
